Greening Langerado, A Success!
Apr 29, 2008
We are proud to announce that the production of Langerado 2008 was 100% carbon neutral with the help of Trees, Water & People. Langerado festival goers also made a big impact by choosing to offset their carbon footprint when purchasing tickets. 37% of you chose to offset your travel in the ticketing process that benefited Native Energy. With the help of greening partners Zero Hero and Bid for Green, all stage and non-stage generators, light towers, and heavy equipment were powered by a blend of 20% biodiesel and 80% conventional diesel. This power strategy avoided 3,200 gallons of petroleum diesel. With your help, Clean Vibes was able to divert 78,000 pounds of material from the landfill and recycle all cardboard, cans and bottles.
Food vendors and caterers backstage and in VIP served on products that were either biodegradable or recyclable, further reducing our reliance on petroleum based products. Green-a-rado was filled with magnificent music, daily yoga and meditation classes, green vendors, non-profit organizations, and workshops covering topics like climate change, conservation, and green building. 100% organic skin care products were provided for festival goers, including sunscreen and all supplies for showers, compliments of Nature's Gate. Rest assured that a week after the last note was played, Big Cypress returned to its pristine state. The greening of Langerado 2008 was a big success and we look forward to an even greener 2009!
Thanks from Langerado!
Mar 11, 2008
From all of us at Langerado HQ, thank you for an incredible weekend at Big Cypress. We made it through some weird and wild weather, but were rewarded with 4 days of incredible performances from all of our incredible artists. Thanks go out to all the attendees for creating a wonderful vibe all weekend and taking care of one another through it all. Extra special thanks go out to all the artists who performed over the weekend and especially the staff who worked so hard to create something very special.
We hope everyone made it home safe and sound, and look forward to sharing our memories of the weekend with you in the coming days and weeks.
For those of you who may have misplaced any items, please email lostandfound@langerado.com and we will do our best to help you find it.
Thanks again for making Langerado 2008 at Big Cypress such a wonderful event!
Get An Extra Dose of Funk with The New Mastersounds
Mar 4, 2008
Congratulations to Vampire Weekend who have been bestowed the great honor of performing on Saturday Night Live. Unfortunately due to this opportunity Vampire Weekend will no longer be able to perform at Langerado. However, don’t fret; The New Mastersounds are hooking you up with an extra dose of funk that’s sure to make you boogie down. Catch The New Mastersounds on Friday from 5-6pm on the Chickee Hut Stage and then again on Saturday from 3:15-4:15 pm also on the Chickee Hut stage. Having been together since 1999, it was relatively recently that this UK funk four-piece began to make waves on the American funk scene. Though the NMS sound is very much their own, there are strong influences from the late-sixties soul-jazz of artists such as Jimmy McGriff, Lonnie Smith and Grant Green, as well as New Orleans funk pioneers the Meters. Their vintage-sounding 7” single releases have made them very popular with funk DJs and record collectors around the world and the live shows have a freshness and energy that sets dance-floors on fire.

So leave your flip flops at home and be prepared with close toed shoes for the weekend. In order to keep your feet comfy, bug bite free and ready to dance all throughout the 4 incredible days and nights, keep those footsies covered up!
Pack Green
Mar 4, 2008
Pre-Festival - Packing/Travel Tips
• Carpool. The less stuff you stack, the more people you can pack!
• Bring reusable water bottles.
• Avoid bringing food that spoils easily and/or is individually wrapped.
• Think reusable before you buy disposable!
• Bring bags for garbage AND recycling.
• Avoid Styrofoam coolers.
• Smokers - bring an ashtray!
• Consider borrowing camping equipment before buying new (tent, cooler, tarp, grill, etc.).
• If you have to buy new, then reuse or recycle the box before you arrive on site. Applicable to all new gear.
• Avoid bringing unnecessary items that become pesky waste (sequins, silly string, confetti, balloons, packing peanuts, etc.).
Clean Vibes' goal is not only to provide responsible waste management services at festivals, but also to educate about how to practice more environmentally friendly consumption patterns. But we can't do it alone! It takes all of us to spread the CLEAN VIBE!

Park City IceWater is the Official Water of Langerado!
Feb 23, 2008
Park City IceWater’s innovative product provides environmentally sensitive packaging that requires 75% less energy to produce and consumes 96% less landfill than all other standard plastic bottles (i.e. one truck load of our empty GlacierPak pouches is equal to 27 truck loads of standard PET plastic bottles).
The source of Park City IceWater is extremely unique since it is a preserved glacier secluded nearly a mile under ground in a vaulted limestone cavern that has been protected for more than 20,000 years in the Uinta Mountains of Utah. This is considered one of the purest known sources of drinking water ever discovered on the planet, and Park City IceWater Company holds the exclusive bottling/packaging rights. This artesian treasure is very large and the current well extraction capacity is 530 GPM which provides the capability of filling 4,500 GlacierPak pouches per minute. At full production capacity, geologists predict that the source will last a minimum of 70 years; however the current production rate is approximately 9% of full capacity. Park City IceWater packages their product directly at the source in a sealed system whereby the water is extracted at 41 degrees Fahrenheit directly into the plant and into the GlacierPak pouch while never being exposed to the atmosphere. This product is truly "Water The Way Nature Intended".
Park City IceWater’s unique packaging also provides the solution to one of the biggest problems in the bottled water industry which is toxic leaching from the plastic into the water. The packaging is actually 3 layers with the interior lining constructed of a proprietary composite that eliminates toxic leaching by providing 20 times the oxygen barrier of the standard 6 mil PET bottle or a value of about 0.05 cc/100si/atm/24hrs. As a result, the product has an indefinite shelf life. From a health standpoint, Park City IceWater has a natural pH of 7.9 providing a perfect balance of alkalinity. Science has documented that disease can not survive in an alkaline environment and therefore Park City IceWater provides not only a pristine untouched source of drinking water but also an alkaline balance that provides enhanced protection to humans and animals.
